DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE
No 9/2014
of 14 February 2014
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 on European standardisation, amending Council Directives 89/686/EEC and 93/15/EEC and Directives 94/9/EC, 94/25/EC, 95/16/EC, 97/23/EC, 98/34/EC, 2004/22/EC, 2007/23/EC, 2009/23/EC and 2009/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council and repealing Council Decision 87/95/EEC and Decision No 1673/2006/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 repeals Council Decision 87/95/EEC (2), which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |
|
(3) |
Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 5 (European Parliament and Council Directive 95/16/EC) of Chapter III:
|

2. |
The following is added in points 6 (Directive 2009/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) and 6a (Directive 97/23/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter VIII: ‘, as amended by:

|
3. |
The following is added in point 27 (Directive 2009/23/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter IX: ‘, as amended by:
|
|
4. |
The following indent is added in point 27b (Directive 2004/22/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter IX:

The following is added in point 7a (Directive 94/9/EC of the European Parliament and the Council) of Chapter X: ‘, as amended by:

6. |
The text of point 2 (Council Decision 87/95/EEC) in Chapter XVIII is deleted. |
|
7. |
The following indent is added in point 1 (Directive 98/34/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XIX:

The text of point 2 (deleted) of Chapter XIX is replaced by the following:

The following indent is added in point 1 (Council Directive 89/686/EEC) of Chapter XXII:

The following is added in points 1 (Council Directive 93/15/EEC) and 4 (Directive 2007/23/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XXIX: ‘, as amended by:

The following indent is added in point 1 (Directive 94/25/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XXXI:

Article 2
The texts of Regulation (EU) No 1025/2012 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 15 February 2014, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
