Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 36/2002 of 19 April 2002 amending Annex VI (Social security) to the EEA Agreement THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Annex VI to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 117/2001 of 28 September 2001(1). (2) Regulation (EC) No 1386/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2001 amending Council Regulations (EEC) No 1408/71 on the application of social security schemes to employed persons, to self-employed persons and to members of their families moving within the Community and (EEC) No 574/72 laying down the procedure for implementing Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. (3) Following the conclusion of agreements between Liechtenstein and the Netherlands, Norway and Germany as well as between Norway and Luxembourg, three adaptations to Regulation (EEC) No 574/72 are to be updated, HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS: Article 1 Annex VI to the Agreement shall be amended as follows: 1. The following indent shall be added in point 1 (Council Regulation (EEC) No 1408/71): "- 32001 R 1386: Regulation (EC) No 1386/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2001 (OJ L 187, 10.7.2001, p. 1)." 2. The following indent shall be added in point 2 (Council Regulation (EEC) No 574/72): "- 32001 R 1386: Regulation (EC) No 1386/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2001 (OJ L 187, 10.7.2001, p. 1)." 3. Adaptation (g) of point 2 (Council Regulation (EEC) No 574/72) shall be amended as follows: A. The text, but not the heading, under point 132 (LIECHTENSTEIN-NETHERLANDS) shall be replaced by the following: "Articles 2 to 6 of the Agreement of 27 November 2000 on the settlement of costs in the area of social security." B. The text, but not the heading, under point 141 (NORWAY-GERMANY) shall be amended as follows: "Article 1 of the Convention of 28 May 1999 to waive the refund of costs of benefits in kind for sickness, maternity, accidents at work and occupational diseases and the costs incurred for administrative checks and medical examinations." C. The text, but not the heading, under point 147 (NORWAY-LUXEMBOURG) shall be amended as follows: "Articles 2 to 4 of the Arrangement of 19 March 1998 on reimbursement of costs in the field of social security." Article 2 The texts of Regulation (EC) No 1386/2001 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement of the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 20 April 2002 provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(3). Article 4 This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities. Done at Brussels, 19 April 2002.
