Satellite accounts for cooperatives and mutuals

1.   Objectives and Description

The objective of the call is to contribute to the existence of reliable statistics on the cooperatives and mutuals at national and European levels. This will be achieved by the establishment of satellite accounts, the updating, improving and/or adapting already existing satellite accounts and the development of transnational co-operation and exchange of experience and good practices (joint projects, dissemination of results: publications, seminars).

2.   Eligible applicants

Applicants may be national statistical offices or services responsible for national accounting, national organisations of cooperatives and/or mutuals, as well as educational and research centres, or non-for-profit organisations or private companies, which are involved in the collection of statistical data. The national statistical offices or the services responsible for national accounting must be involved in all projects, either as individual applicant or as coordinator with other partners or as partner in a consortium coordinated by another organisation.

Applicants must be established in one of the following countries:

the EU Member States,

the EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway,

Accession countries, candidate countries and other countries participating to the CIP: Albania, Croatia, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Israel, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.

3.   Budget and project duration

The total budget earmarked for the co-financing of projects amounts to EUR 200 000. Financial assistance from the Commission cannot exceed 95 % of the total eligible costs. The maximum grant will be EUR 66 500.

Activities must start from January 2010. Activities must end before 31 December 2010. The maximum duration of projects is 12 months.

4.   Deadline

Applications must be sent to the Commission no later than 4 September 2009.
