Draft DECISION OF THE EC-TURKEY ASSOCIATION COUNCIL repealing Decision No 4/72 on the definition of the concept of "originating products" from Turkey for implementation of Chapter I of Annex No 6 of the Additional Protocol to the Ankara Agreement (presented by the Commission) EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM Decision No 4/72 defined the concept of "originating products" from Turkey for agricultural products. In 1998 Protocol 3 to Decision No 1/98 of the EC-Turkey Association Council of 25 February 1998 on the trade regime for agricultural products laid down rules of origin which have since been applicable to trade in agricultural products between Turkey and the Community. For this reason, Decision No 4/72 has become obsolete and in the interests of legal clarity it should be repealed. The Commission requests the Council to present this draft Decision to the EC-Turkey Association Council. Draft DECISION OF THE EC-TURKEY ASSOCIATION COUNCIL repealing Decision No 4/72 on the definition of the concept of "originating products" from Turkey for implementation of Chapter I of Annex No 6 of the Additional Protocol to the Ankara Agreement THE EC-TURKEY ASSOCIATION COUNCIL, Having regard to the Agreement of 12 September 1963 establishing an Association between the European Economic Community and Turkey, Having regard to the Additional Protocol to that Agreement, and in particular Article 16 of Annex No 6 thereto, Whereas: (1) By Decision No 4/72 of the EC-Turkey Association Council of 29 December 1972 on the definition of the concept of "originating products" from Turkey for implementation of Chapter I of Annex No 6 of the Additional Protocol to the Ankara Agreement [1], as amended by Decision No 1/75 [2], the Association Council established the definition of the concept of "originating products" from Turkey for the implementation of Annex No 6.
