DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

No 2/2006

of 27 January 2006

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 112/2005 of 30 September 2005 (1).

(2)

Commission Directive 2005/30/EC of 22 April 2005 amending, for the purposes of their adaptation to technical progress, Directives 97/24/EC and 2002/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, relating to the type-approval of two or three-wheel motor vehicles (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex II to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1.

The following indent shall be added in points 45x (Directive 97/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) and 45za (Directive 2002/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘—

32005 L 0030: Commission Directive 2005/30/EC of 22 April 2005 (OJ L 106, 27.4.2005, p. 17).’

2.

The following point shall be inserted after point 45zf (Commission Directive 2004/104/EC):

‘45zg.

32005 L 0030: Commission Directive 2005/30/EC of 22 April 2005 amending, for the purposes of their adaptation to technical progress, Directives 97/24/EC and 2002/24/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council, relating to the type-approval of two or three-wheel motor vehicles (OJ L 106, 27.4.2005, p. 17).’

Article 2

The texts of Directive 2005/30/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 28 January 2006, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*1).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
