4.   Texts of agreements forwarded by the Council

The Council had forwarded certified true copies of the following documents:

Agreement for scientific and technological cooperation between the European Community and the United Mexican States;

Agreement between the European Community and the Republic of Slovenia laying down a procedure for the provision of information in the field of technical regulations and of rules on information society services.

5.   Written declarations (Rule 51)

In accordance with Rule 51(5), written declarations Nos 26 and 27/2003 lapsed as they had not obtained the required number of signatures.

6.   Action taken on Parliament's positions and resolutions

The Commission communications on the action taken on the positions and resolutions adopted by Parliament during the part-sessions of September I and II 2003 and October I and II 2003 had been distributed.

7.   Membership of Parliament

In a letter dated 24 February 2004, the President of the Catalan Parliament announced the appointment of Joan Colom i Naval as Member of the Court of Auditors of Catalonia.

Pursuant to Rule 8(4), his term of office as Member of the European Parliament would end with effect from 26 February 2004.

In a letter dated 19 February 2004, the competent Belgian authorities announced the appointment of Frédérique Ries as member of the Belgian government.

Pursuant to Rule 8(4), her term of office as Member of the European Parliament would end with effect from 12 February 2004.

In the same letter, the competent Belgian authorities announced the appointment of Jacqueline Rousseaux to replace Frédérique Ries as Member of Parliament, with effect from 19 February 2004.

The President drew attention to the provisions of Rule 7(5).

8.   Membership of committees and delegations

At the request of the GUE/NGL and Verts/ALE Groups, Parliament ratified the following appointments:

ITRE Committee and the delegation on relations with Mashreq countries and the Gulf States: Marie-Françoise Duthu;

9.   Agenda

The order of business had been established (Item 9 of Minutes of 9 February 2004) and a corrigendum to the agenda had been distributed (PE 340.723/OJ/COR).

This corrigendum had not been modified.
