    DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 142/2019

    of 14 June 2019

    amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2022/2134]

    THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

    Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

    Whereas:

    (1)

    Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/111 of 24 January 2019 concerning the authorisation of hop extract (Humulus lupulus L. flos) as a feed additive for weaned piglets, pigs for fattening and minor porcine species weaned and for fattening (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

    Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/144 of 28 January 2019 concerning the authorisation of a preparation of 3-phytase produced by Komagataella pastoris (CECT 13094) as a feed additive for chickens reared for laying and minor poultry species for fattening or reared for laying or for breeding (holder of authorisation Fertinagro Biotech S.L.) (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

    This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein.

    Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

    HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

    Article 1

    The following points are inserted after point 283 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/49) of Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement:

    32019 R 0111: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/111 of 24 January 2019 concerning the authorisation of hop extract (Humulus lupulus L. flos) as a feed additive for weaned piglets, pigs for fattening and minor porcine species weaned and for fattening (OJ L 23, 25.1.2019, p. 14).

    32019 R 0144: Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/144 of 28 January 2019 concerning the authorisation of a preparation of 3-phytase produced by Komagataella pastoris (CECT 13094) as a feed additive for chickens reared for laying and minor poultry species for fattening or reared for laying or for breeding (holder of authorisation Fertinagro Biotech S.L.) (OJ L 27, 31.1.2019, p. 8).’

    Article 2

    The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2019/111 and 2019/144 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

    Article 3

    This Decision shall enter into force on 15 June 2019, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*).

    Article 4

    This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
