Initiative summary:
This initiative aims to: • encourage the supply of more sustainable fruit and vegetable products to consumers; • modernise outdated rules; and • simplify current legislation on marketing standards and align it with the requirements of the Treaty of Lisbon. The 2020 Commission work programme lists marketing standards as an area for action, and the Commission’s Farm to Fork Strategy envisages a review of marketing standards.
