Explanatory Notes to the Combined Nomenclature of the European Union

Pursuant to Article 9(1)(a) of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 (1), the Explanatory Notes to the Combined Nomenclature of the European Union (2) are hereby amended as follows:
On page 388, in the explanatory note to CN subheadings ‘9612 10 10 to 9612 10 80 Ribbons’, the following text is added:
‘These subheadings include products which are ready-to-use heat-sensitive inked ribbons, i.e. which are suitable to be used in a typewriter or any other machine incorporating a device for printing, without a further manufacturing process.
The length and width of inked ribbons that are ready-to-use are determined by the type of machine in which they are used.
Products which are not ready-to-use are excluded from these subheadings (generally, Sections VI and VII).’
