    for:

    ‘Collodion is by weight a 12 % nitrocellulose solution in a mixture of ether and alcohol.’,

    read:

    ‘Collodion is a solution of nitrocellulose containing 12 % by weight of nitrogen in a mixture of ether and alcohol.’.
