A4-0171/97 Decision on the joint text approved by the Conciliation Committee for a European Parliament and Council Directive on interconnection in telecommunications with regard to ensuring universal service and interoperability through application of the principles of open network provision (ONP) (C4-0185/97 - 95/0207(COD)) (Codecision procedure: third reading) The European Parliament, - having regard to the joint text approved by the Conciliation Committee and the relevant Council and Commission declarations (C4-0185/97 - 95/0207(COD), - having regard to its opinion at first reading ((OJ C 65, 4.3.1996, p. 69. )) on the Commission proposal to Parliament and the Council (COM(95)0379 ((OJ C 313, 24.11.1995, p. 7.)), - having regard to its decision on the common position ((OJ C 320, 28.10.1996, p. 138.)), - having regard to the Commission's opinion on Parliament's amendments to the common position (COM(96) 0535 - C4-0593/96), - having regard to Article 189b(5) of the EC Treaty, - having regard to Rule 77(2) of its Rules of Procedure, - having regard to the report of its delegation to the Conciliation Committee (A4-0171/97), 1. Approves the joint text; 2. Instructs its President to sign the act with the President of the Council, pursuant to Article 191(1) of the EC Treaty; 3. Instructs its Secretary-General duly to sign the act and, in agreement with the Secretary-General of the Council, to have it published in the Official Journal; 4. Instructs its President to forward this decision to the Council and Commission.
