Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 51/2002 of 31 May 2002 amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 32/2002 of the EEA Joint Committee of 19 April 2002(1). (2) Commission Directive 2001/15/EC of 15 February 2001 on substances that may be added for specific nutritional purposes in foods for particular nutritional uses(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. (3) Commission Directive 2001/22/EC of 8 March 2001 laying down the sampling methods and the methods of analysis for the official control of the levels of lead, cadmium, mercury and 3-MCPD in foodstuffs(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. (4) Commission Directive 2001/61/EC of 8 August 2001 on the use of certain epoxy derivatives in materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs(4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement. (5) Directive 2001/15/EC contains a reference to Regulation (EC) No 258/97 of the European Parliament and of the Council(5), which is not incorporated into the Agreement, but whose incorporation is being considered. (6) Directive 2001/22/EC contains a reference to Commission Regulation (EC) No 466/2001(6), which is not incorporated into the Agreement, but whose incorporation is being considered, HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS: Article 1 The following points shall be inserted after point 54zh (Directive 2000/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) in Chapter XII of Annex II to the Agreement: "54zi. 32001 L 0015: Commission Directive 2001/15/EC of 15 February 2001 on substances that may be added for specific nutritional purposes in foods for particular nutritional uses (OJ L 52, 22.2.2001, p. 19), 54zj. 32001 L 0022: Commission Directive 2001/22/EC of 8 March 2001 laying down the sampling methods and the methods of analysis for the official control of the levels of lead, cadmium, mercury and 3-MCPD in foodstuffs (OJ L 77, 16.3.2001, p. 14), 54zk. 32001 L 0061: Commission Directive 2001/61/EC of 8 August 2001 on the use of certain epoxy derivatives in materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs (OJ L 215, 9.8.2001, p. 26)." Article 2 The texts of Directives 2001/15/EC, 2001/22/EC and 2001/61/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 1 June 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(7). Article 4 This Decision shall be published in the EEA section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities. Done at Brussels, 31 May 2002.
