    Decision of the EEA Joint Committee

    No 76/2002

    of 25 June 2002

    amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

    THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

    Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

    Whereas:

    (1) Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 149/2001 of 11 December 2001(1).

    (2) Ten acts concerning animal health - exchange and placing on the market of live animals - are to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (3) Decision 2001/183/EC(2) repeals Commission Decision 92/532/EEC(3), which is incorporated into the Agreement and which is consequently to be deleted from the Agreement.

    (4) This Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,

    HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

    Article 1

    Part 4.2 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as specified in the Annex to this Decision.

    Article 2

    The texts of Decisions 2001/100/EC(4), 2001/139/EC(5), 2001/159/EC(6), 2001/183/EC, 2001/185/EC(7), 2001/187/EC(8), 2001/188/EC(9), 2001/294/EC(10), 2001/311/EC(11) and 2001/485/EC(12) in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

    Article 3

    This Decision shall enter into force on 26 June 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(13).

    Article 4

    This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.

    ANNEX

    Part 4.2 of Chapter I of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as specified below.

    1. The text of point 6 (Commission Decision 92/532/EEC) shall be deleted.

    2. The following indent shall be added in point 17 (Commission Decision 93/74/EEC):
