Objective of aid: The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is assisting with the organisation of meetings to provide information on running organic farms and to provide an insight into the market for primary organic products. These meetings are being organised at various locations around the country and free admission is given to all interested farmers with small and medium-sized farms, in accordance with Article 15(4) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006. The objective of this aid measure is to provide information and advice to participating farmers. At the meetings the farmers will receive information and advice which can help to reduce the obstacles faced by farmers switching over to organic farming. This advice is therefore to be considered as knowledge sharing in accordance with Article 15(2)(d) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006. The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is assisting with the organisation of these meetings and therefore does not make any direct monetary payments to the farmers, in accordance with Article 15(3) of the abovementioned Regulation.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is also assisting with setting up a website containing the relevant information for farmers who are interested in possibly switching over to organic farming. This contribution complies with Article 15(2)(d)(iii) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006

Other information: All of the aid under Article 10 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006 will be paid in connection with animal diseases covered by Community or national legal or administrative provisons.
The aid in connection with animal diseases will be paid only for the animal losses appearing in the list of animal diseases established by the World Organisation for Animal Health and/or in the Annex to Council Decision 90/424/EEC, an outbreak of which has been established by the relevant veterinary authorities.
The aid does not relate to animal diseases in respect of which Community legislation provides for specific charges for control measures.
The aid does not concern measures whose costs are required by Community law to be borne by agricultural holdings themselves.

Maximum aid intensity: Under Article 3 of the above draft Order, the aid amount referred to in Article 1 may cover up to 75 % of the cost of the programme. Notwithstanding, under Article 5(3) of Royal Decree No 428/2003 of 11 April 2003, the appropriations allocated to the actions specified in the call for tender by the Ministry for the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs may only cover up to 50 % of the overall cost of the programme. Appropriations allocated by the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands may supplement that amount up to the maximum rate allowed.
In accordance with Article 10(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006, eligible aid may not involve direct payments of money; aid will be granted to beneficiaries in the form of subsidised services, which must be accessible to all eligible persons in the area concerned, based on objectively defined conditions

The health programmes will be implemented in holdings that are members of the ADSG, which must be entered in the Canary Islands Register of livestock holdings with duly updated data, for which the only reference should be deliveries between 1 January and 28 February 2009, in accordance with Article 4(3) of Royal Decree No 479/2004 of 26 March 2004 establishing and regulating the Register of livestock holdings.
A holding may only belong to one ADGS, unless it is of a different type.

Annual expenditure planned under the scheme or overall amount of individual aid granted to the company: EUR 600 000 per year
Maximum aid intensity: The aid amount varies between EUR 240, EUR 600 and EUR 800 depending on the genetic value of the animal being replaced. Under no circumstances may the average aid amount per animal, added to the compensation per animal slaughtered and that for the meat value exceed the justified average value of the purchased animals for which aid is sought.
The maximum number of animals for which compensation is to be granted will correspond to 75 % of the average herd number of the farm in the three years preceding the depopulation.
The maximum amount per applicant will be EUR 59 999
Date of application: From the date of publication of the registration number of the exemption request on the website of the Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development
Duration of scheme or individual aid award: Until 31.12.2013
Objective of aid: The objective of the aid is to compensate farmers for losses caused by the slaughter of meat and dairy breeding cattle, breeding sheep and goats owing to the implementation of the National Eradication Programmes, and to facilitate the replacement of animals with the aim of restoring the stock of breeding animals to the number that existed before the outbreak of the disease, in accordance with Article 10 of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006.
The aid is granted in the context of the fight against diseases covered by National Eradication Programmes, in particular bovine tuberculosis and/or brucellosis. Thus:
these are diseases for which an outbreak has been formally recognised by the public authorities,
the aid is part of a statutory public eradication programme at Community, national and regional level,
aid is not granted for measures for which the cost is to be borne by the agricultural holdings,
these are not diseases in respect of which Community legislation provides for specific charges for control measures,
the animals on the holding must have been slaughtered for official health reasons,
the scheme complies with the requirement set out in Article 10(8) of Regulation (EC) No 1857/2006,
only agricultural holdings that are considered to be micro, small or medium-sized enterprises may benefit from this aid.
Eligible costs: purchase value of replacement animals. Under no circumstances may the average aid amount per animal, added to the compensation per animal slaughtered and that for the meat value exceed the justified average value of the purchased animal for which aid is sought
