    NOTICE OF OPEN COMPETITION: RESEARCH OFFICER — LABOUR ECONOMICS

    The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), based in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking to recruit a Research Officer — Labour Economics (m/f).

    Reporting to the Head of the Industrial Relations and Workplace Developments unit, the Research Officer will work in close cooperation with Research Managers in managing research projects, planning and conducting surveys, maintaining observatories, conducting research, preparing reports and presenting information in line with Eurofound's work programme and the needs of its stakeholders.

    The role requires a good understanding of social policies and policy-related issues concerning living and working conditions, industrial relations and workplace developments in the overall context of the European Union and specific knowledge in the analysis of labour market trends (e.g. employment, pay, working time, etc.).

    The competition is open to candidates who:

    are citizens of one of the Member States of the European Union,

    are entitled to full rights as a citizen,

    have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service,

    are able to produce character references as to suitability for performance of the duties specified,

    have a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the Union, including an excellent knowledge of English which is the principal language of the Foundation,

    have a university education of at least four years leading to the award of a degree in economics, or related disciplines,

    have at least two years' relevant experience following the award of a university degree.

    The successful candidate will be recruited to function group AD, grade 5, as a temporary agent with a contract of indefinite duration.
