    Appointment of new members of the Committee for Orphan Medicinal Products

    The Committee on orphan medicinal products was instituted by Regulation (EC) 141/2000 of the European Parliament and of the Council on Orphan Medicinal Products of 16 December 1999(1). By its decision of 14 April 2000(2), the Commission appointed six of its members. Due to the resignation of Jean-Michel Alexandre and Mary Teeling, and based on the recommendation of the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products, The Commission has appointed Eric Abadie and David Lyons to replace these members.
