COUNCIL DECISION (EU) 2021/1790
of 5 October 2021
on the conclusion, on behalf of the Union, of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Korea on certain aspects of air services
THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, and in particular Article 100(2) in conjunction with point (a) of Article 218(6) thereof,
Having regard to the proposal from the European Commission,
Having regard to the consent of the European Parliament (1),
Whereas:

In accordance with Council Decision (EU) 2020/608 (2), the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Korea on certain aspects of air services (‘the Agreement’) was signed on 25 June 2020, subject to its conclusion at a later date. |

(2) |
The objective of the Agreement is to bring bilateral air services agreements between several Member States and the Republic of Korea into line with Union law. |

(3) |
The Agreement should be approved, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
The Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Korea on certain aspects of air services is hereby approved on behalf of the Union (3).
Article 2
The President of the Council shall, on behalf of the Union, give the notification provided for in Article 8(1) of the Agreement (4).
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
