    Exemption from taxes of imports of small consignments of goods*

    European Parliament legislative resolution on the proposal for a Council directive on the exemption from taxes of imports of small consignments of goods of a non-commercial character from thirdcountries (codified version) (COM(2006)0012 — C6-0059/2006 — 2006/0007(CNS))

    (Consultation procedure)

    The European Parliament,

    - having regard to the Commission proposal to the Council (COM(2006)0012) [1],

    - having regard to Article 93 of the EC Treaty, pursuant to which the Council consulted Parliament (C6-0059/2006),

    - having regard to Rules 51 and 43(1) of its Rules of Procedure,

    - having regard to the report of the Committee on Legal Affairs (A6-0258/2006),

    1. Approves the Commission proposal;

    2. Calls on the Council to inform Parliament if it intends to reject the text approved by Parliament;

    3. Instructs its President to forward its position to the Council and Commission.
