WRITTEN QUESTION E-2644/00 by Jaime Valdivielso de Cué (PPE-DE) to the Council (1 September 2000) Subject: Trade In May 2000 a proposal was submitted to the Council regarding the setting of definitive anti-dumping duties for certain components of TV camera equipment from Japan. After an investigation lasting more than two years, carried out by the Commission with the cooperation of European manufacturers of these products, the Commission proposed that anti-dumping measures be taken. That proposal was rejected at the meeting of the Council's trade group of 8 May 2000. Can the Council say on what grounds that decision was based?
