WRITTEN QUESTION P-1482/98 by Bertel Haarder (ELDR) to the Commission (7 May 1998) Subject: Staff regulations for officials of the European Communities In the light of the critical attitude towards the Union in many Member States and of the current reform of the Staff Regulations for EU officials, will the Commission take the initiative to amend the Staff Regulations for EU officials so that, irrespective of the category of post, such officials seconded to the Commission's and Parliament's information offices in their own country of origin are employed as local staff for the duration of their secondment? Answer given by Mr Liikanen on behalf of the Commission (23 June 1998) The Commission would point out that it has no plans at present to amend the Staff Regulations in this connection. A joint high level group is to begin a study of future personnel policy.
