DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 116/2024
of 12 June 2024
amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement [2024/2469]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/260 of 12 January 2024 concerning the authorisation of cumin essential oil from Cuminum cyminum L., sweet fennel tincture from Foeniculum vulgare Mill. ssp. vulgare var. dulce, dong quai tincture from Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels, parsley tincture from Petroselinum crispum (Mill.) Fuss, star anise tincture from Illicium verum Hook f., asafoetida essential oil from Ferula-assa-foetida L., dill herb essential oil from Anethum graveolens L. and dill tincture from Anethum graveolens L. as feed additives for certain animal species (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/251 of 16 January 2024 concerning the renewal of the authorisation of the preparations of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum CNCM I-3235, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum DSM 11672/CNCM I-3736, Pediococcus acidilactici CNCM I-3237, Pediococcus acidilactici DSM 11673/CNCM I-4622, Pediococcus pentosaceus NCIMB 12455, Acidipropionibacterium acidipropionici CNCM I-4661, Lentilactobacillus buchneri NCIMB 40788/CNCM I-4323 and Lentilactobacillus hilgardii CNCM I-4785 and Lentilactobacillus buchneri CNCM I-4323/NCIMB 40788 as feed additives for all animal species, amending Implementing Regulations (EU) No 1065/2012, (EU) No 1119/2012, (EU) No 1113/2013 and (EU) No 304/2014 and repealing Implementing Regulations (EU) No 990/2012 and (EU) 2019/764 (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/265 of 17 January 2024 concerning the authorisation of zinc(II)– betaine complex as a feed additive for all animal species except aquatic animals farmed in marine aquaculture systems (3) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(4) |
Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/251 repeals Commission Implementing Regulations (EU) No 990/2012 (4) and (EU) 2019/764 (5), which are incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which are consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |

(5) |
This Decision concerns legislation regarding feedingstuffs. Legislation regarding feedingstuffs shall not apply to Liechtenstein as long as the application of the Agreement between the European Community and the Swiss Confederation on trade in agricultural products is extended to Liechtenstein, as specified in the sectoral adaptations to Annex I to the EEA Agreement. This Decision is therefore not to apply to Liechtenstein. |

Annex I to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Chapter II of Annex I to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 61 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 1065/2012):

The following is added in point 105 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 304/2014): ‘, as amended by:

The following points are inserted after point 543 (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2023/2850):

The texts of points 59 (Implementing Regulation (EU) No 990/2012) and 298 (Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/764) are deleted. |
Article 2
The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2024/260, (EU) 2024/251 and (EU) 2024/265 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 13 June 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
