DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 66/2024
of 15 March 2024
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2024/1580]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors, amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 98/2013 (1), as corrected by OJ L 231, 6.9.2019, p. 30, is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 repeals Regulation (EU) No 98/2013 (2) which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |

(3) |
Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 12zc (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XV:

The text of point 12zzq (Regulation (EU) No 98/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XV is replaced by the following: ‘ 32019 R 1148: Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors, amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 98/2013 (OJ L 186, 11.7.2019, p. 1), as corrected by OJ L 231, 6.9.2019, p. 30.’ |

The text of point 6 (Regulation (EU) No 98/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XXIX is replaced by the following: ‘ 32019 R 1148: Regulation (EU) 2019/1148 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors, amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 and repealing Regulation (EU) No 98/2013 (OJ L 186, 11.7.2019, p. 1), as corrected by OJ L 231, 6.9.2019, p. 30.’ |
Article 2
The text of Regulation (EU) 2019/1148, as corrected by OJ L 231, 6.9.2019, p. 30, in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 16 March 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
