DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 109/2024
of 26 April 2024
amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2024/1934]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1979 of 31 August 2022 on establishing the form and databases for communicating the information referred to in Articles 18(1) and 21(3) of Directive 2012/18/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances and repealing Commission Implementing Decision 2014/895/EU (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1979 repeals, with effect from 31 December 2025, Commission Implementing Decision 2014/895/EU (2), which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement with effect from 31 December 2025. |

(3) |
Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex XX to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 23d (Commission Implementing Decision 2014/895/EU):

2. |
The text of point 23d (Commission Implementing Decision 2014/895/EU) shall be deleted with effect from 31 December 2025. |
Article 2
The text of Implementing Decision (EU) 2022/1979 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 27 April 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
