1. Resumption of the session
The session adjourned on Thursday 19 January 2023 was resumed.
2. Opening of the sitting
The sitting opened at 10.36.
3. Composition of Parliament
The Slovak authorities had given notice of the election of Katarína Roth Neveďalová to replace Miroslav Čiž as Member of Parliament with effect from 30 December 2022.
Parliament took note of her election.
Under Rule 3(2), until such time as her credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that she had previously made a written declaration stating that she did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, Katarína Roth Neveďalová would take her seat in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto.
4. Composition of political groups
Daniela Rondinelli was no longer sitting with the non-attached Members and had joined the S&D Group as of 25 January 2023.
5. Order of business
The final draft agenda for the January II sitting (PE 741.323/PDOJ) had been made available to Members. No changes had been proposed.
The order of business was thus established.
6. Formal sitting — International Holocaust Remembrance Day
Parliament held a formal sitting to mark the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust.
The President made an address.
The cimbalom player Jenő Lisztes played Lament, a piece by Laci Rácz.
Isaac Herzog, President of the State of Israel, made an address.
Parliament observed a minute's silence.
Chen Halevi (clarinet) and Jenő Lisztes (cimbalom) played Kaddish by Maurice Ravel.
7. Approval of the minutes of the sitting
In accordance with Rule 202(3), the minutes of that day's sitting would be placed before Parliament for its approval at the beginning of the next sitting.
8. Dates of forthcoming sittings
The next sittings would be held on 1 February 2023 and 2 February 2023.
9. Closure of the sitting
The sitting closed at 11.24.
10. Adjournment of the session
The session of the European Parliament was adjourned.
