COUNCIL DECISION

of 25 September 2014

appointing one member of the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), establishing a European Chemicals Agency, amending Directive 1999/45/EC and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 793/93 and Commission Regulation (EC) No 1488/94 as well as Council Directive 76/769/EEC and Commission Directives 91/155/EEC, 93/67/EEC, 93/105/EC and 2000/21/EC (1), and in particular Article 79 thereof,

Whereas:

Article 79 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 provides that each Member State should nominate a member to the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency and that the Council is to appoint as members of the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency one representative from each Member State.

(2)

The Republic of Croatia became member of the European Union as of 1 July 2013.

(3)

The Government of Croatia has submitted its nomination for a representative, who should therefore be appointed for a period of four years,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Mr Bojan VIDOVIĆ, of Croatian nationality, born on 22 May 1976, shall be appointed member of the Management Board of the European Chemicals Agency, for the period from 25 September 2014 to 26 September 2018.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
