Decision of the EEA Joint Committee

amending Annex II (technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) and Annex XIII (transport) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as 'the Agreement', and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex II to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the Joint Committee of the EEA No 3/2000 of 4 February 2000(1).

(2) Annex XIII to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the Joint Committee of the EEA No 76/2001 of 19 June 2001(2).

(3) Commission Directive 2001/2/EC of 4 January 2001 adapting to technical progress Council Directive 1999/36/EC on transportable pressure equipment(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(4) Commission Decision 2001/107/EC of 25 January 2001 deferring for certain transportable pressure equipment the date of implementation of Council Directive 1999/36/EC(4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

The following shall be added in point 6b (Council Directive 1999/36/EC) of Chapter VIII of Annex II to the Agreement: ", as amended by:

- 32001 L 0002: Commission Directive 2001/2/EC of 4 January 2001 (OJ L 5, 10.1.2001, p. 4),

- 32001 D 0107: Commission Decision 2001/107/EC of 25 January 2001 (OJ L 39, 9.2.2001, p. 43).

* The Directive is also listed in Annex XIII, point 17f and point 42c, to the Agreement."

Article 2

The following shall be added in point 17f (Council Directive 1999/36/EC) of Annex XIII to the Agreement: ", as amended by:

- 32001 L 0002: Commission Directive 2001/2/EC of 4 January 2001 (OJ L 5, 10.1.2001, p. 4),

- 32001 D 0107: Commission Decision 2001/107/EC of 25 January 2001 (OJ L 39, 9.2.2001, p. 43).

* The Directive is also listed in Annex II, point 6b of Chapter VIII, and Annex XIII, point 42c, to the Agreement."

Article 3

The following shall be added in point 42c (Council Directive 1999/36/EC) of Annex XIII to the Agreement: ", as amended by:

- 32001 L 0002: Commission Directive 2001/2/EC of 4 January 2001 (OJ L 5, 10.1.2001, p. 4),

- 32001 D 0107: Commission Decision 2001/107/EC of 25 January 2001 (OJ L 39, 9.2.2001, p. 43).

* The Directive is also listed in Annex II, point 6b in Chapter VIII, and Annex XIII, point 17f, to the Agreement."

Article 4

The texts of Directive 2001/2/EC and Decision 2001/107/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 5

This Decision shall enter into force on 14 July 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the Joint Committee of the EEA(5).

Article 6

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities.
