Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 5/2001 of 31 January 2001 amending Annex IX (Financial services) to the EEA Agreement THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE, Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof, Whereas: (1) Annex IX to the Agreement was amended by Decision No 117/1999 of the EEA Joint Committee of 30 September 1999(1). (2) Commission Recommendation 2000/408/EC of 23 June 2000 concerning disclosure of information on financial instruments and other items complementing the disclosure required according to Council Directive 86/635/EEC on the annual accounts and consolidated accounts of banks and other financial institutions(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement, HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS: Article 1 The following point shall be inserted after point 38 (Commission Recommendation 97/489/EC) of Annex IX to the Agreement: "39. 32000 X 0408: Commission Recommendation 2000/408/EC of 23 June 2000 concerning disclosure of information on financial instruments and other items complementing the disclosure required according to Council Directive 86/635/EEC on the annual accounts and consolidated accounts of banks and other financial insititutions (OJ L 154, 27.6.2000, p. 36)." Article 2 The texts of Recommendation 2000/408/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic. Article 3 This Decision shall enter into force on 1 February 2001, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committe(3). Article 4 This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities. Done at Brussels, 31 January 2001.
