EUROPEISKA GEMENSKAPERNAS KOMMISSION HAR ANTAGIT DETTA BESLUT
med beaktande av fördraget om upprättandet av Europeiska gemenskapen,
med beaktande av rådets direktiv 94/28/EG av den 23 juni 1994 om principer för zootekniska och genealogiska villkor för import från tredje land av djur, sperma, ägg och embryon och om ändring av direktiv 77/504/EEG om renrasiga avelsdjur av nötkreatur ( 1 ), särskilt artikel 3.1, och
av följande skäl:|

I direktiv 94/28/EG fastställs principerna för de zootekniska och genealogiska villkoren för import från tredjeländer av vissa renrasiga djur och deras sperma, ägg och embryon. |

(2) |
Enligt direktiv 94/28/EG och utan att det påverkar tillämpningen av gemenskapslagstiftningen om djur- och folkhälsa kan dessa djur endast importeras som renrasiga respektive hybrider om vissa villkor är uppfyllda. Ett av dessa villkor är att djuren skall vara införda eller registrerade i en stambok eller ett register som förs av en myndighet såsom fastställs i det direktivet samt att sperma, ägg och embryon endast kan importeras om de kommer från ett djur som är infört eller registrerat i en sådan stambok eller ett sådant register. |

Argentina, Bulgarien, Förenta staterna, Israel, Island, Kanada och Nya Zeeland har meddelat kommissionen en förteckning över myndigheter som de har godkänt för att föra stamböcker eller register över renrasiga djur som får importeras enligt direktiv 94/28/EG. |

(4) |
Förteckningen över myndigheter som är godkända för att föra stamböcker eller register över de djur som avses i detta beslut bör därför fastställas i enlighet med direktiv 94/28/EG. |
|
(5) |
De åtgärder som föreskrivs i detta beslut är förenliga med yttrandet från ständiga kommittén för husdjursavel. |
HÄRIGENOM FÖRESKRIVS FÖLJANDE.
Artikel 1
I enlighet med direktiv 94/28/EG anges i bilagan till detta beslut förteckningen över de myndigheter som är godkända för att föra stamböcker eller register över avelsdjur av nötkreatur, svin, får och getter samt sperma, ägg och embryon från dessa djur såsom varande renrasiga och, när det gäller svin, även såsom varande hybrider.
Artikel 2
Medlemsstaterna skall tillåta import av avelsdjur av nötkreatur, svin, får och getter samt sperma, ägg och embryon från dessa djur såsom varande renrasiga och, när det gäller svin, även såsom varande hybrider, endast under förutsättning att de är införda eller registrerade i en stambok eller ett register som förs av en myndighet som är upptagen i förteckningen i bilagan till detta beslut.
Artikel 3
Detta beslut riktar sig till medlemsstaterna.
