COUNCIL JOINT ACTION

of 21 December 1999

extending Council Joint Action 1999/522/CFSP concerning the installation of the structures of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK)

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on European Union and in particular Article 14 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Council Joint Action 1999/522/CFSP of 29 July 1999 concerning the installation of the structures of the UNMIK(1) expires on 31 December 1999;

(2) In order to support further the fourth component of the UNMIK, an extension of that Joint Action is necessary only for a limited period of time since the Council has been informed of the intention of the Commission to propose a medium and long-term financing solution through appropriate Community measures,

HAS ADOPTED THIS JOINT ACTION:

Article 1

The validity of Joint Action 1999/522/CFSP shall be extended until 29 February 2000.

Article 2

1. The financial reference amount intended to cover the cost resulting from the extension of Joint Action 1999/522/CFSP as set out in Article 1 shall be EUR 290000.

2. The management of the expenditure financed by the amount specified in paragraph 1 shall be subject to the procedures and rules of the Community applying to budget matters.

Article 3

This Joint Action shall enter into force on 1 January 2000.

Article 4

This Joint Action shall be published in the Official Journal.
