    Initiative summary:
    As announced in the European Green Deal, the Commission intends to review the EU rules on waste shipments. The review will consider how to facilitate shipments of waste for recycling in the EU to support the transition to a circular economy. It will also explore ways to reduce the export of waste, for example through better control, measures against illegal shipments and action to avoid potential adverse effects on the environment and public health of shipments of waste to third countries.
