DECISION OF THE COURT OF JUSTICE

of 30 April 2019

on official holidays and judicial vacations

THE COURT

having regard to Article 24(2), (4) and (6) of the Rules of Procedure,

whereas, under Article 24(4) and (6) of those Rules, the Court is to observe the official holidays of the place in which it has its seat and the list of those official holidays is to be published annually in the Official Journal of the European Union,

whereas the Decision of the Court of Justice of 12 February 2019 on official holidays and judicial vacations was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 18 March 2019 (1),

whereas, since that decision was published, 9 May (Europe Day) has been declared an official holiday in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg from 2019 (2),

whereas it is necessary, in consequence, to amend the aforementioned decision to include that date in the list of the official holidays of the place in which the Court has its seat,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The list of official holidays within the meaning of Article 24(4) and (6) of the Rules of Procedure is established as follows:

New Year’s Day,

Easter Monday,

1 May,

9 May,

Ascension,

Whit Monday,

23 June,

15 August,

1 November,

25 December,

26 December.

Article 2

For the period from 1 November 2019 to 31 October 2020, the dates of the judicial vacations within the meaning of Article 24(2) and (6) of the Rules of Procedure are as follows:

Christmas 2019: from Monday 23 December 2019 to Sunday 12 January 2020 inclusive,

Easter 2020: from Monday 6 April 2020 to Sunday 19 April 2020 inclusive,

Summer 2020: from Thursday 16 July 2020 to Monday 31 August 2020 inclusive.

Article 3

This Decision shall replace the Decision of 12 February 2019. It shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
