    DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

    No 21/2008

    of 14 March 2008

    amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

    THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

    Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Agreement’, and in particular Article 98 thereof,

    Whereas:

    (1)

    Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 1/2008 of 1 February 2008 (1).

    (2)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 757/2007 of 29 June 2007 concerning the permanent authorisation of certain additives in feedingstuffs (2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (3)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 785/2007 of 4 July 2007 concerning the authorisation of 6-phytase EC 3.1.3.26 (Phyzyme XP 5000G Phyzyme XP 5000L) as a feed additive (3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (4)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 786/2007 of 4 July 2007 concerning the authorisation of endo-1,4-beta-mannanase EC 3.2.1.78 (Hemicell) as a feed additive (4) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (5)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 828/2007 of 13 July 2007 concerning the permanent and provisional authorisation of certain additives in feedingstuffs (5) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (6)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 850/2007 of 19 July 2007 amending Regulation (EC) No 378/2005 on detailed rules for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the duties and tasks of the Community Reference Laboratory concerning applications for authorisations of feed additives (6) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (7)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1137/2007 of 1 October 2007 concerning the authorisation of Bacillus subtilis (O35) as a feed additive (7) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (8)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1138/2007 of 1 October 2007 concerning the authorisation of a new use of benzoic acid (VevoVitall) as a feed additive (8) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (9)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1139/2007 of 1 October 2007 concerning the authorisation of L-arginine as a feed additive (9) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (10)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1140/2007 of 1 October 2007 concerning the provisional authorisation of a new use of an additive already authorised in feedingstuffs (10) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (11)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1141/2007 of 1 October 2007 concerning the authorisation of 3-phytase (ROVABIO PHY AP and ROVABIO PHY LC) as a feed additive (11) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (12)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1142/2007 of 1 October 2007 concerning the authorisation of a new use of 3-phytase (Natuphos) as a feed additive (12) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (13)

    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1143/2007 of 1 October 2007 amending Regulation (EC) No 256/2002 as regards the authorisation of the feed additive preparation of Bacillus cereus var. toyoi, belonging to the group of microorganisms (13) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

    (14)

    This Decision is not to apply to Liechtenstein,

    HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

    Article 1

    Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

    1)

    The following shall be added in point 1z (Commission Regulation (EC) No 256/2002):

    ‘, as amended by:

    2)

    The following shall be added in point 1zzh (Commission Regulation (EC) No 378/2005):

    Article 2

    The texts of Regulations (EC) No 757/2007, (EC) No 785/2007, (EC) No 786/2007, (EC) No 828/2007, (EC) No 850/2007, (EC) No 1137/2007, (EC) No 1138/2007, (EC) No 1139/2007, (EC) No 1140/2007, (EC) No 1141/2007, (EC) No 1142/2007 and (EC) No 1143/2007 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

    Article 3

    This Decision shall enter into force on 15 March 2008, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee (*1).

    Article 4

    This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
