    Initiative summary:
    Gender-based violence against women and domestic violence remain common in the Member States. The Commission launches this initiative to prevent such violence, protect victims and punish offenders on a common basis. It will incorporate the results of the fitness check of the EU legislation on violence against women and domestic violence, which evaluates EU legislation in this regard. Building on gaps, it will include proposals for strengthened EU measures and assess their impact.
