DECISIÓN EUPOL AFGANISTÁN/1/2013 DEL COMITÉ POLÍTICO Y DE SEGURIDAD
de 4 de junio de 2013
por la que se prorroga el mandato del Jefe de la Misión de Policía de la Unión Europea en Afganistán (EUPOL AFGANISTÁN)

EL COMITÉ POLÍTICO Y DE SEGURIDAD,
Visto el Tratado de la Unión Europea y, en particular, su artículo 38, párrafo tercero,
Vista la Decisión 2010/279/PESC del Consejo, de 18 de mayo de 2010, sobre la Misión de Policía de la Unión Europea en Afganistán (EUPOL AFGANISTÁN) (1), y, en particular, su artículo 10, apartado 1,
Considerando lo siguiente:

Con arreglo a la Decisión 2010/279/PESC, el Comité Político y de Seguridad está autorizado, con arreglo al artículo 38, párrafo tercero, del Tratado, a adoptar las decisiones pertinentes con el fin de ejercer el control político y la dirección estratégica de la Misión de Policía de la Unión Europea en Afganistán (EUPOL AFGANISTÁN), incluida la decisión relativa al nombramiento del Jefe de Misión. |

El 27 de mayo de 2013, el Consejo adoptó la Decisión 2013/240/PESC (2) por la que se amplía el período de duración de EUPOL AFGANISTÁN hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2014. |

El 10 de julio de 2012, el Comité Político y de Seguridad adoptó la Decisión EUPOL AFGANISTÁN/1/2012 (3) por la que se nombra a D. Karl Åke ROGHE Jefe de la Misión de EUPOL AFGANISTÁN desde el 1 de agosto de 2012 hasta el 31 de mayo de 2013. |

El 29 de mayo de 2013, la Alta Representante de la Unión para Asuntos Exteriores y Política de Seguridad propuso la prórroga del mandato del Sr. Karl Åke ROGHE como Jefe de la Misión de EUPOL AFGANISTÁN desde el 1 de junio de 2013 hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2014. |
HA ADOPTADO LA PRESENTE DECISIÓN:
Artículo 1
El mandato del Sr. Karl Åke ROGHE como Jefe de la Misión de Policía de la Unión Europea en Afganistán, EUPOL AFGANISTÁN se prorroga hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2014.
Artículo 2
La presente Decisión entrará en vigor el 1 de junio de 2013.
