DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 20/2025
of 7 February 2025
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2025/745]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2576 of 2 October 2024 approving 2-methyl-4-oxo-3-(prop-2- ynyl)cyclopent-2-en-1-yl 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2-methylprop-1-enyl)cyclopropanecarboxylate (prallethrin) as an existing active substance for use in biocidal products of product-type 18 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(2) |
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2635 of 3 October 2024 approving silver zinc zeolite as an existing active substance for use in biocidal products of product-types 2, 7 and 9 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2401 of 12 September 2024 repealing Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/2101 postponing the expiry date of the approval of sulfuryl fluoride for use in biocidal products of product-types 8 and 18 (3) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2410 of 13 September 2024 postponing the expiry date of the approval of dinotefuran for use in biocidal products of product-type 18 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (4) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2416 of 13 September 2024 postponing the expiry date of the approval of pyriproxyfen for use in biocidal products of product-type 18 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (5) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2417 of 13 September 2024 postponing the expiry date of the approval of alkyl (C12-16) dimethylbenzyl ammonium chloride for use in biocidal products of product-type 8 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (6) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2421 of 13 September 2024 postponing the expiry date of the approval of formaldehyde for use in biocidal products of product-types 2 and 3 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (7) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2460 of 16 September 2024 postponing the expiry date of the approval of metofluthrin for use in biocidal products of product-type 18 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (8) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2712 of 23 October 2024 on the unresolved objections regarding the conditions for granting an authorisation for the biocidal product Phenogen in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council (9) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2401 repeals Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/2101 (10), which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |

(11) |
Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Chapter XV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following points are inserted after point 12zzzzzzzzzzzc (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2024/2411):

2. |
The text of point 12zzzzzzzzzq (Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2023/2101) is deleted. |
Article 2
The texts of Implementing Regulations (EU) 2024/2576 and (EU) 2024/2635 and Implementing Decisions (EU) 2024/2401, (EU) 2024/2410, (EU) 2024/2416, (EU) 2024/2417, (EU) 2024/2421, (EU) 2024/2460 and (EU) 2024/2712 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 8 February 2025, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
