DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 268/2024

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2025/605]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2590 of 13 July 2023 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of certain motor vehicles with regard to their advanced driver distraction warning systems and amending that Regulation (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)	Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 52 (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘—	32023 R 2590: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2590 of 13 July 2023 (OJ L, 2023/2590, 22.11.2023).’

The following point is inserted after point 52f (Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1958):

‘52g.

32023 R 2590: Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2590 of 13 July 2023 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of certain motor vehicles with regard to their advanced driver distraction warning systems and amending that Regulation (OJ L, 2023/2590, 22.11.2023).’

Article 2

The text of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2023/2590 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 7 December 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
