DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 37/2024

amending Annex XIII (Transport) to the EEA Agreement [2024/1524]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)

Directive (EU) 2023/946 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023 amending Directive 2003/25/EC as regards the inclusion of improved stability requirements and the alignment of that Directive with the stability requirements defined by the International Maritime Organization (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)	Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following indent is added in point 56cb (Directive 2003/25/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement:

‘—	32023 L 0946: Directive (EU) 2023/946 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023 (OJ L 128, 15.5.2023, p. 1).’

Article 2

The text of Directive (EU) 2023/946 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 3 February 2024, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1), or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 107/2020 of 14 July 2020 (2), whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
