to take a joint approach to undertaking transport and infrastructure projects, for the purpose of forward-looking and sustainable regional development, and to promote cross-border mobility by integrating public transport, in particular trains and buses, e.g. by building a railway, bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the River Mur,

to develop the concept of joint cross-border local development, e.g. by creating a joint cross-border market along the Mur or integrating the two towns into a single image with pictures showing both sides of the border, and preserving cultural heritage,

—

to present the shared history of the towns’ inhabitants and create new synergies by preserving cultural and national diversity, e.g. by publishing bilingual publications and organising themed events in the two museums and guided walking tours through the two towns on the topic of shared history,

—

to support and step up cross-border institutional cooperation, e.g. by publishing a bilingual information guide or setting up a citizens advice bureau or joint bilingual web portal,

—

to share knowledge and resources in order to bring about synergistic development in the future in the areas of education, culture, sport and music,

—

to develop innovative and individualised approaches to tourism and leisure activities by pooling expertise, resources and skills to promote the region’s special features and combining existing tourism products, e.g. by publishing a joint map of the cross-border area or linking cycling and walking paths,

—

to erect a cross-border zip line over the Mur starting at the hill on which Gornja Radgona Castle stands and ending at the Bad Radkersburg town park;

—

to develop joint activities in other areas, such as the economy and healthcare, to strengthen economic and social cohesion,

—

to maintain a pleasant living environment and promote environmental projects in the Mur-Drava-Danube biosphere area.
