COUNCIL DECISION

of 9 April 2019

appointing the members and alternate members of the Management Board of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound)

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2019/127 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 January 2019 establishing the European Foundation for the improvement of living and working conditions (Eurofound) (1), and in particular Article 4 thereof,

Having regard to the lists of nominations for appointment submitted to the Council by the Governments of the Member States and by the employees' and the employers' organisations,

Whereas:

(1)

Regulation (EU) 2019/127 repealed and replaced Regulation (EEC) No 1365/75 of the Council (2).

(2)

The members of the Governing Board established on the basis of Article 6 of Regulation (EEC) No 1365/75 have remained in office and exercised the functions of the Management Board provided for in Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2019/127 until the appointment of the members of the Management Board and of the independent expert in accordance with Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/127.

The members and alternate members of the Management Board of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions should be appointed for a period of four years,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Regulation (EU) 2019/126 repealed and replaced Council Regulation (EC) No 2062/94 (2).

The members of the Governing Board established on the basis of Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No 2062/94 have remained in office and exercised the functions of the Management Board provided for in Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2019/126 until the appointment of the members of the Management Board and of the independent expert in accordance with Article 4(1) of Regulation (EU) 2019/126.
