Non-opposition to a notified concentration

(Case COMP/M.6346 — APMT/Bolloré/Congo Terminal)

On 12 April 2012, the Commission decided not to oppose the above notified concentration and to declare it compatible with the common market. This decision is based on Article 6(1)(b) of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004. The full text of the decision is available only in English and will be made public after it is cleared of any business secrets it may contain. It will be available:

in the merger section of the Competition website of the Commission (http://ec.europa.eu/competition/mergers/cases/). This website provides various facilities to help locate individual merger decisions, including company, case number, date and sectoral indexes,

in electronic form on the EUR-Lex website (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/en/index.htm) under document number 32012M6346. EUR-Lex is the on-line access to the European law.

The publication of the list of border crossing points referred to in Article 2(8) of Regulation (EC) No 562/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2006 establishing a Community Code on the rules governing the movement of persons across borders (Schengen Borders Code) is based on the information communicated by the Member States to the Commission in conformity with Article 34 of the Schengen Borders Code.

In addition to the publication in the Official Journal, a regular update is available on the website of the Directorate-General for Home Affairs.

Calls for proposals — ESPON 2013 programme

(18 April 2012-13 June 2012)

ESPON is the European Observation Network for Territorial Development and Cohesion. It supports policy development related to EU cohesion policy. ESPON is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under objective 3 for European territorial cooperation and by 31 countries (27 EU Member States and Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).

In the framework of the ESPON 2013 programme, calls for proposals are now open.

1.

Call for proposals on targeted analyses/priority 2:

North Sea — Spreading transnational results (budget EUR 340 000).

One single proposal will be selected for the indicated theme.

2.

Call for proposals within the ESPON scientific platform/priority 3:

European territorial monitoring system (budget EUR 598 000),

Detecting territorial potential and challenges (budget EUR 350 000),

European urban benchmarking web tool (budget EUR 200 000).

The total available budget for this call amounts to EUR 1 148 000 which is distributed on projects as indicated above. One single proposal will be selected for each of the three indicated themes.

3.

Call for proposals for transnational networking activities by the ESPON contact point network/priority 4:

Capitalisation activities at transnational level by the ESPON contact point network.

The available budget will be communicated on the ESPON website by the opening of the call. More than one proposal can be selected.

The deadline for submitting proposals is 13 June 2012.

Potential beneficiaries are researchers, scientists, experts, research institutes, public bodies and private companies from 31 countries (27 EU Member States, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway and Switzerland). The call on transnational networking activities is dedicated to the institutions confirmed as national ESPON contact points.

An Info Day and Partner Café for potential beneficiaries will take place on 10 May 2012 in Brussels.
