NOTICE OF OPEN COMPETITION: RESEARCH OFFICER — LABOUR ECONOMICS

The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), based in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking to recruit a Research Officer — Labour Economics (m/f).
Reporting to the Head of the Industrial Relations and Workplace Developments unit, the Research Officer will work in close cooperation with Research Managers in managing research projects, planning and conducting surveys, maintaining observatories, conducting research, preparing reports and presenting information in line with Eurofound's work programme and the needs of its stakeholders.
The role requires a good understanding of social policies and policy-related issues concerning living and working conditions, industrial relations and workplace developments in the overall context of the European Union and specific knowledge in the analysis of labour market trends (e.g. employment, pay, working time, etc.).
The competition is open to candidates who:

are citizens of one of the Member States of the European Union, |
— |
are entitled to full rights as a citizen, |
— |
have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the laws concerning military service, |
— |
are able to produce character references as to suitability for performance of the duties specified, |
— |
have a thorough knowledge of one official language of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language of the Union, including an excellent knowledge of English which is the principal language of the Foundation, |
— |
have a university education of at least four years leading to the award of a degree in economics, or related disciplines, |
— |
have at least two years' relevant experience following the award of a university degree. |
The successful candidate will be recruited to function group AD, grade 5, as a temporary agent with a contract of indefinite duration.

NOTICE OF OPEN COMPETITION: RESEARCH MANAGER (EMPLOYMENT AND COMPETITIVENESS UNIT)

The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound), based in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking to recruit a Research Manager — Employment and Competitiveness unit (m/f).
Research Managers at Eurofound design, coordinate, manage and assess European-wide studies, surveys, reports and other projects undertaken by research institutes and individual experts in the Member States as well as conducting research themselves. Reporting to the Head of the Employment and Competitiveness unit, the successful candidate will be specifically responsible for:

policy analysis of European employment trends and strategy, |
— |
running European Employment Trends — a new monitoring tool which will be based on the European Restructuring Monitor (ERM). This will involve producing regular reports on restructuring and development of the quantity and quality of jobs in Europe, |
— |
conducting and managing research on the impact of emerging business models and institutional arrangements on employment and working conditions. |

Research Managers at Eurofound design, coordinate, manage and assess European-wide studies, surveys, reports and other projects undertaken by research institutes and individual experts in the Member States, as well as conducting research themselves where necessary. Reporting to the Head of the Industrial Relations and Workplace Developments unit, the successful candidate will play a key role in the development of its research capacity from a company perspective.
The competition is open to candidates who:
