This ‘umbrella agreement’ is meant to create a long-lasting legal basis for cooperation on EU programmes. It will remain in force for several multiannual financial frameworks to come.
The agreement has provisionally applied since , pending the completion of the procedures necessary for its entry into force.
The EU–New Zealand science and innovation partnership is supported by the 2009 Science and Technology Cooperation Agreement (see summary), which has been instrumental in creating stronger links between the two partners.
