Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) — Addendum to the call for proposals 2009 — DG EAC/31/08

1.   Objectives and description

This addendum to the call for proposals for the Lifelong Learning Programme 2009 (EAC/31/08 published in the Official Journal of the European Union C 255, 8.10.2008, p. 6) opens for the participation of the Republic of Croatia and of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the Lifelong Learning Programme.

The addendum is based on the following legal instruments:

Decision No 1720/2006/EC establishing an action programme in the field of lifelong learning which was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 15 November 2006,

Financing Agreement of 17 November 2008 between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and the Commission of the European Communities concerning the National programme for Croatia under the IPA-Transition Assistance and Institution Building Component for 2007 providing for Community financing, as part of the National Programme, of project HR2007/4/3: ‘Preparatory measures for participation in the Lifelong Learning and Youth in Action programmes’,

and

Financing Agreement between the Government of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the Commission of the European Communities, signed by the exchange of letters of 29 April and 13 May 2008, concerning the National programme (part 2) for the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia under the IPA-Transition Assistance and Institution Building Component for 2007 which provides for Community financing, as part of the National Programme, of project 4.2 ‘Preparatory measures for the Lifelong Learning and Youth in Action programmes’.

2.   Eligible applicants

The Lifelong Learning Programme applies to all types and levels of education and training and it is open for the participation of all the entities listed in Article 4 of the Decision.

This addendum is exclusively dedicated to setting the conditions applicable to applicants established in the Republic of Croatia and in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The conditions are listed here below.

3.   Republic of Croatia

3.1.   Budget and duration of projects

The total budget earmarked for the Republic of Croatia is estimated at EUR 643 115. The level of grants awarded as well as the duration of projects vary depending on factors such as the type of project and the number of countries involved.

3.2.   Deadlines for the submission of applications by the Republic of Croatia

NOTE: Under the present call, mobility from other countries participating in the Lifelong Learning Programme to the Republic of Croatia cannot be funded from the programme funds.

4.   The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia

4.1.   Budget and duration of projects

The total budget earmarked for the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia is estimated at EUR 650 000. The level of grants awarded as well as the duration of projects vary depending on factors such as the type of project and the number of countries involved.
