Notice on the adjustment of basic salaries and allowances applicable to Europol staff subject to the Europol Staff Regulations pursuant to Article 57(5) of the Council with effect from 1 July 2011, 1 July 2012, 1 July 2013 and 1 July 2014

Pursuant to Article 57(5) of the Council Decision establishing the European Police Office (Europol) of 6 April 2009 (1), by way of derogation from Chapter 5 of the Europol Staff Regulations (2), the percentage rate of the annual adjustment of remuneration decided by the Council in accordance with Article 65 of the Staff Regulations of officials of the European Union (3) shall be applicable to Europol staff employed under the Europol Staff Regulations.

1.   Adjustment of remunerations with effect from 1 July 2011

Pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 422/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 adjusting with effect from 1 July 2011 the remunerations and pensions of officials and other servants of the European Union and the correction coefficients applied thereto (4), the remunerations of Europol Staff are adjusted with effect from 1 July 2011 as follows:

(a)

the amounts of basic salaries specified by Article 45 ESR as well as the amounts mentioned in Articles 60(1) ESR, 2(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 3(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 3(2) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 4(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR and 5(3) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, are unaffected (0 % increase).

Consequently, the amounts referred to in the above provisions, as modified with effect from 1 July 2010 and specified in the Notice dated 18 April 2014 on the adjustment of basic salaries and allowances applicable to Europol staff subject to the Europol Staff Regulations pursuant to Article 57(5) of the Council Decision with effect from 1 July 2009 and 1 July 2010 (5), are applicable;

(b)

the weighting coefficient for the application of Article 43(2) and (3) is adjusted as follows:

2.   Adjustment of remunerations with effect from 1 July 2012

As a result of Regulation (EU) No 423/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 April 2014 adjusting with effect from 1 July 2012 the remunerations and pensions of officials and other servants of the European Union and the correction coefficients applied thereto (6), the remunerations of Europol Staff are adjusted with effect from 1 July 2012 as follows:

(h)

Article 4(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, the amount ‘EUR 990,12’ is adjusted to: ‘EUR 998,04’;

(i)

Article 4(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, the amount ‘EUR 660,06’ is adjusted to: ‘EUR 665,34’;

(j)

Article 4(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, the amount ‘EUR 528,04’ is adjusted to: ‘EUR 532,26’;

(k)

Article 5(3) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, the amount ‘EUR 1 862,96’ is adjusted to by: ‘EUR 1 877,86’;

(m)

Article 5(3) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, the amount ‘EUR 3 104,94’ is adjusted to: ‘EUR 3 129,78’;

(n)

the weighting coefficient for the application of Article 43(2) and (3) is adjusted as follows:

3.   Adjustment of remunerations with effect from 1 July 2013

Pursuant to Council Regulation (EU) No 1416/2013 of 17 December 2013 adjusting with effect from 1 July 2013 the correction coefficients applied to the remuneration and pensions of officials and other servants of the European Union (7), the remunerations of Europol Staff are adjusted with effect from 1 July 2013 as follows:

(a)

the amounts of basic salaries specified by Article 45 ESR as well as the amounts mentioned in Articles 60(1) ESR, 2(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 3(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 3(2) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 4(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR and 5(3) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, are frozen.

Consequently, the amounts referred to in the above provisions, as modified with effect from 1 July 2012 and specified in Articles 2(a) to 2(m) of the present Notice, remain applicable;

(b)

the weighting coefficient for the application of Article 43(2) and (3) is adjusted as follows:

4.   Adjustment of remunerations with effect from 1 July 2014

Pursuant to the Annual update of 12 December 2014 of the correction coefficients applicable from 1 July 2014 to the remunerations and pensions of officials and other servants of the European Union (8), the remunerations of Europol Staff are adjusted with effect from 1 July 2014 as follows:

(a)

the amounts of basic salaries specified by Article 45 ESR as well as the amounts mentioned in Articles 60(1) ESR, 2(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 3(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 3(2) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, 4(1) of Appendix 5 to the ESR and 5(3) of Appendix 5 to the ESR, are frozen.

Consequently, the amounts referred to in the above provisions, as modified with effect from 1 July 2014 and specified in Articles 2(a) to 2(m) of the present Notice, remain applicable;

(b)

the weighting coefficient for the application of Article 43(2) and (3) is adjusted as follows:

Explanatory notes:

The rate of adjustment of basic salaries and allowances under the Europol Staff Regulations results from the combination of the rate of adjustment of basic salaries specified in Article 66 of the Staff Regulations of officials of the European Union and of the variation of the correction coefficients applicable to the Netherlands pursuant to Article 64 of said Staff Regulations.

The adjustment of weightings applicable to remunerations paid to Europol staff members whose place of employment is not in the Netherlands is calculated on the basis of the variation of the correction coefficient applicable to the countries concerned under the Staff Regulations of officials of the European Communities.
