DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 167/2019

of 14 June 2019

amending Annex XI (Electronic communication, audiovisual services and information society) to the EEA Agreement [2022/2159]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1)	Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/806 of 22 May 2015 laying down specifications relating to the form of the EU trust mark for qualified trust services (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2)

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1505 of 8 September 2015 laying down technical specifications and formats relating to trusted lists pursuant to Article 22(5) of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2015/1506 of 8 September 2015 laying down specifications relating to formats of advanced electronic signatures and advanced seals to be recognised by public sector bodies pursuant to Articles 27(5) and 37(5) of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market (3) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/650 of 25 April 2016 laying down standards for the security assessment of qualified signature and seal creation devices pursuant to Articles 30(3) and 39(2) of Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market (4) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(5)	Annex XI to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following points are inserted after point 5la (Commission Decision 2000/709/EC) of Annex XI to the EEA Agreement:

Article 2

The texts of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/806 and Implementing Decisions (EU) 2015/1505, (EU) 2015/1506 and (EU) 2016/650 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 15 June 2019, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*), or on the date of entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 22/2018 of 9 February 2018 (5), whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
