DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 59/2022
of 18 March 2022
amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2022/1127]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1341 of 23 April 2021 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of motor vehicles with regard to their driver drowsiness and attention warning systems and amending Annex II to that Regulation (1) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Chapter I of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

the following indent is added in point 52 (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

the following point is inserted after point 52c (Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1243):

Article 2
The text of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021/1341 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 19 March 2022, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*), or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 55/2022 of 18 March 2022 (2), whichever is the later.
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
