DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE

amending Annex XX (Environment) to the EEA Agreement [2016/1301]
THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,
Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,
Whereas:

(1) |
Commission Decision 2014/256/EU of 2 May 2014 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for converted paper products (1), as corrected by OJ L 66, 11.3.2015, p. 20, is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |
|
(2) |
Commission Decision 2014/312/EU of 28 May 2014 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for indoor and outdoor paints and varnishes (2) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |
|
(3) |
Commission Decision 2014/313/EU of 28 May 2014 amending Decisions 2011/263/EU, 2011/264/EU, 2011/382/EU, 2011/383/EU, 2012/720/EU and 2012/721/EU in order to take account of developments in the classification of substances (3), as corrected by OJ L 300, 18.10.2014, p. 69, is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(4) |
Commission Decision 2014/314/EU of 28 May 2014 establishing the criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for water-based heaters (4) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(5) |
Commission Decision 2014/336/EU of 5 June 2014 amending Decisions 2006/799/EC, 2007/64/EC, 2009/300/EC, 2009/894/EC, 2011/330/EU, 2011/331/EU and 2011/337/EU in order to prolong the validity of the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel to certain products (5) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

Commission Decision 2014/345/EU of 6 June 2014 amending Decision 2012/481/EU establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for printed paper (6) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |

(7) |
Commission Decision 2014/350/EU of 5 June 2014 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for textile products (7) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |
|
(8) |
Commission Decision 2014/363/EU of 13 June 2014 amending Decision 2007/742/EC on electrically driven, gas driven or gas absorption heat pumps (8) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |
|
(9) |
Commission Decision 2014/391/EU of 23 June 2014 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for bed mattresses (9) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement. |
|
(10) |
Decision 2014/312/EU repeals Commission Decisions 2009/543/EC (10) and 2009/544/EC (11) which are incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which are consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |
|
(11) |
Decision 2014/391/EU repeals Commission Decision 2009/598/EC (12) which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement. |

Annex XX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:
Article 1
Annex XX of the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in points 2d (Commission Decision 2006/799/EC), 2da (Commission Decision 2007/64/EC), 2j (Commission Decision 2009/300/EC), 2o (Commission Decision 2011/331/EU), and 2zd (Commission Decision 2009/894/EC):

The following indent is added in points 2e (Commission Decision 2011/264/EU) and 2h (Commission Decision 2011/263/EU):

The following is added in points 2q (Commission Decision 2011/337/EU) and 2s (Commission Decision 2011/330/EU): ‘, as amended by:

The text of point 2w (Commission Decision 2009/598/EC) is replaced by the following: ‘ 32014 D 0391: Commission Decision 2014/391/EU of 23 June 2014 establishing the ecological criteria for the award of the EU Ecolabel for bed mattresses (OJ L 184, 25.6.2014, p. 18).’ |

Article 2
The texts of Decisions 2014/256/EU, as corrected by OJ L 66, 11.3.2015, p. 20, 2014/312/EU, 2014/313/EU, as corrected by OJ L 300, 18.10.2014, p. 69, 2014/314/EU, 2014/336/EU, 2014/345/EU, 2014/350/EU, 2014/363/EU and 2014/391/EU in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, shall be authentic.
Article 3
This Decision shall enter into force on 1 May 2015, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made (*1).
Article 4
This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union.
