amending Annex I (Veterinary and phytosanitary matters) to the EEA Agreement

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, as amended by the Protocol adjusting the Agreement on the European Economic Area, hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement", and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Annex I to the Agreement was amended by Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 151/2001 of 11 December 2001(1).

(2) Council Directive 2001/102/EC of 27 November 2001 amending Directive 1999/29/EC on the undesirable substances and products in animal nutrition(2) is to be incorporated into the Agreement.

(3) Commission Directive 2002/1/EC of 7 January 2002 amending Directive 94/39/EC as regards animal feedingstuffs for the support of liver function in case of chronic liver insufficiency(3) is to be incorporated into the Agreement,

HAS DECIDED AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1

Chapter II of Annex I to the Agreement shall be amended as follows:

1. The following indent shall be added in point 9 (Commission Directive 94/39/EC):

"- 32002 L 0001: Commission Directive 2002/1/EC of 7 January 2002 (OJ L 5, 9.1.2002, p. 8)."

2. The following shall be added in point 32 (Council Directive 1999/29/EC):

"as amended by:

- 32001 L 0102: Council Directive 2001/102/EC of 27 November 2001 (OJ L 6, 10.1.2002, p. 45)."

Article 2

The texts of Directives 2001/102/EC and 2002/1/EC in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities, shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 26 June 2002, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the Agreement have been made to the EEA Joint Committee(4).

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Communities.
