COMMISSION DELEGATED REGULATION (EU) 2021/1429
of 31 May 2021
amending Regulation (EU) 2018/956 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the data on new heavy-duty vehicles to be monitored and reported by Members States

THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2018/956 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 June 2018 on the monitoring and reporting of CO2 emissions from and fuel consumption of new heavy-duty vehicles (1), and in particular Article 11(1)(a) thereof,

In order to provide for a thorough analysis in accordance with Article 10 of Regulation (EU) 2018/956 data is necessary that allow to identify heavy-duty vehicles registered as ‘special purpose vehicles’ as defined in Annex I, Part A, point 2.2. to Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council (2) and to determine the average specific CO2 emissions of a manufacturer for the purposes of Regulation (EU) 2019/1242 of the European Parliament and of the Council (3). Such data is recorded in position 51 of the certificate of conformity of a newly registered heavy-duty vehicle. It is therefore necessary to adjust the data requirements specified in Annex I, Part A to Regulation (EU) 2018/956 on data to be monitored and reported by Member States. |

Regulation (EU) 2018/956 should therefore be amended accordingly, |
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
Amendment to Regulation (EU) 2018/956
In Annex I, Part A to Regulation (EU) 2018/956 the following point (o) is added:

‘(o) |
for special purpose vehicles registered until 30 June 2021, where available, and for special purpose vehicles registered from 1 July 2021, in all cases, their designation as specified in entry 51 of the certificate of conformity.’. |
Article 2
Entry into force
This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
