THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Having regard to Directive 2007/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 September 2007 establishing a framework for the approval of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles (Framework Directive) (1), and in particular Article 39(2) and (7) thereof,
Having regard to Regulation (EC) No 595/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 June 2009 on type-approval of motor vehicles and engines with respect to emissions from heavy duty vehicles (Euro VI) and on access to vehicle repair and maintenance information and amending Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 and Directive 2007/46/EC and repealing Directives 80/1269/EEC, 2005/55/EC and 2005/78/EC (2), and in particular Article 4(3) and Article 5(4) thereof.
Whereas:

The Danish, French and Slovak language versions of Directive 2007/46/EC, the Danish and French language versions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 582/2011 (3), and the Danish language version of Commission Regulation (EU) 2017/2400 (4), contain several errors. More specifically, the terms ‘bi-fuel’, and ‘dual-fuel’ have been translated with one and the same term, even though those terms denote different engine operation modes. ‘Dual-fuel’ engines in fact use diesel fuel and gaseous fuel simultaneously, whereas ‘bi-fuel’ engines use the fuels alternately. |

Additional errors appear in the Danish language version of Directive 2007/46/EC where the terms ‘mono fuel’ and ‘flex fuel’ should be corrected because they have been translated inconsistently. Furthermore, the abbreviation ‘WHTC’ has, in some instances, been translated with the abbreviation for another type of test, namely ‘WHSC’. |

The Danish, French and Slovak language versions of Directive 2007/46/EC, the Danish and French language versions of Regulation (EU) No 582/2011, and the Danish version of Regulation (EU) 2017/2400, should therefore be corrected accordingly. The other language versions are not affected. |

The provisions set out in Regulation (EU) No 582/2011 and in Regulation (EU) 2017/2400 form part of the framework established by Directive 2007/46/EC and some of the errors affecting the wording of the Regulations also affect the wording of the Directive. Directive 2007/46/EC, Regulation (EU) No 582/2011 and Regulation (EU) 2017/2400 should therefore be corrected by a single act. |

HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:

This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
